The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 1500 skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, functional system testing, installation supervision and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest engineering hub. The India Operations Centre is a key aspect of the Power Grids business Power Up transformation program. The INOPC team at Chennai supports Hitachi Energy’s units in more than 40 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Power Grid business. To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries.
Your responsibilities
Support LBU/LPG project manager and lead planner in planning, scheduling and control.
Development of a comprehensive project plan during tender and execution as per scope
Establish project schedule, man-hour budget and monitor its progress. Routinely analyse, evaluate, and forecast the current project status against the baseline schedule. Assess the impacts of design or construction changes to the schedule.
Evaluate the actual position of the project, compare the actual state with the desired state, and takes corrective actions if required.
Develop and maintain integrated role/resource loaded baseline and current schedule for better cost forecasting.
Ensuring adherence to best practices (critical path) and quality standards (six sigma)
Report the status of schedule and man-hours in a time phased project baseline, actual and forecast data to appropriate project and company management. Prepare slide pack for project review
Coordinate all work on the project, ensuring that objectives are met within budget. Conduct site visits to verify progress and identify any potential and critical issues. Work with the teams to recommend recovery plans and update the schedule and budget accordingly.
Notify LPG Lead planner / Portfolio leader/ Project controls manager (as part of project team for ‘A’ projects) of any deviation or scheduling issue and provides input for optimizing resources.
Issue progress reports, program updates and productivity data on a regular basis and as requested by customers and stakeholders.
Devising strategies to overcome roadblocks or delays through technical knowledge, innovating short cuts or alternative ways, improvising with available resources, scheduling overtime to meet the deadline etc.
Your background
5 - 8 years professional work experience in project management domain.
Electrical background and proficient in project planning, control and reporting
Planning experience in Power Grids / FACTS / AIS and GIS
Experience working with project management plans (PMP) and plans, specifications and estimates (PS&E)
Proficient in Oracle Primavera P6 planning tool
Experience in Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) planning.
Strong communication skills in written and verbal (English)
Ability to develop, maintain and update detailed schedules, ensure adherence to quality standards, create reports and provide analysis using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
Capability to work from offshore.

Responsibilities for FCC Data Analysts
Define clear, concise and detailed business requirements for FCC Data that clearly document the data elements and formats that are needed, outline detailed transformation expectations and list the critical data elements that will enable downstream processes to operate effectively.
Create and maintain documentation that articulates the process by which data is extracted, transformed and loaded in FCC that can be shared and understood by others.
Work with downstream FCC business process owners to constantly improve, refine and expand the datasets to improve the quality and effectiveness of those processes, as well as help them to make sense of the data, providing training where required, and derive meaningful BI / MI.
Conduct detailed analysis of upstream changes that impact FCC data – for example the introduction of a new products - to ensure that requirements remain up to date and define any new ones as necessary.
Identify areas of overlap or data gaps that can lead to increased value, either by eliminating redundant processes or expanding existing data models.
Produce accurate and insightful dashboards and reports detailing the health, content and insights available from the data, making that actionable for stakeholders and meaningful for management decision making.

Role Responsibilities
Processing of cost recharges entries (E.g., Oracle, Trello, Intrado, BNM, Workspace, BYOMD etc.).
Raising CBRs for these cost recharges and monitor settlement.

Update DOI’s (Departmental Operating Instructions) and cross train other team members to ensure the dependencies are clear and seamless.
