Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this full-time position will be the protection of public health through the enforcement of applicable laws and regulations concerning individual wells, on-site wastewater disposal system, subdivisions of land, nuisance control, and air quality.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Determined by the Maryland Board of Environmental Health Specialists under the licensing requirements for Environmental Health Specialists.

Experience: None.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
1. At the time of hire, candidates for positions in this classification must possess a certificate of eligibility to be licensed as an Environmental Health Specialist from the Maryland Board of Environmental Health Specialists.

2. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.

FISCAL: Account Clerk Fellow - Fellow Level (High School, Associates, or Bachelors)

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic more grant funding has been made available to the St. Lawrence County Public Health Department (SLCPHD) to provide needed services and education. However, the increased projects and financial support needed has created an administrative burden within SLCPHD that is not supportable by the current staffing capacity. The hiring and training of additional fiscal support to meet the increased administrative needs within the SLCPHD serves to ensure the immediate and continued effective response to the COVID-19 pandemic as well as future infectious diseases outbreaks.

The New York State Public Health Corps Account Clerk Fellow position is responsible for fiscal and administrative support functions focusing on COVID-19 grant work including:

Distributing expenditures as well as data pertaining to COVID-19 grants
Assuring COVID-19 grant expenses are charged appropriately
Compiling data for and assisting in the preparation of simple financial and statistical reports
Preparing and maintaining various types of records
Assisting in verifying and reconciling account balances
Reviewing account keeping records and reports for arithmetical and clerical accuracy, completeness, and proper accounts
Assisting with reporting and submitting grant claims
Attending relevant department meetings

About The Health Information Office (HIO):

The Health Information Office manages system change for the Department's Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) also known as the interChange (iC), the Business Intelligence Data Management System (BIDM), Services Integration (SI), Health Information Technology projects (HIT) and related Information Technology (IT) infrastructure, while coordinating with the Governor's Office of Information Technology and other stakeholders on HIT and IT projects that impact the Department and the state’s Medicaid Enterprise Systems (MES). The Health Information Office comprises the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO), the Medicaid Health IT Division, the MES Services Integration & Data Alignment Division, the Systems Division (for the MMIS), and the Strategic Initiatives Unit (for IT projects and access control).

This position can work fully remotely from anywhere in the State of Colorado.
**Please note - equipment provisioning and certain onboarding tasks will take place in person, in our downtown Denver office, on the first day of employment.**

Description of Job
Review data from the claims data subsystem to identify discrepancies between medical health policy and medical health encounter system edits within MMIS.
Prepare transmittals to update system rules to align with current Behavioral Health policy to all Behavioral Health encounters to adjudicate correctly within MMIS.
Supports program staff and other systems teams from a data entry perspective.
Manually enters data, in this case Provider Action Requests, as a workaround to enroll providers into the interChange system.
Provide feedback for system configuration, customizations, and enhancements.
Provide updates and status reports to the reporting manager.
Provide support to other programs where system edits may not align with current department policy.
Analyze PARS and Claims data.
Resolve errors for prior authorizations that are not accepted into the interChange system.
Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a field of study related to the work assignment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proven analytical, reporting and problem-solving skills

Ability to independently work with multiple data sources
Conditions of Employment:
